West and East Laelay Tselemti: Supporting Drought-Affected Communities
We delivered a comprehensive, multi-sectoral humanitarian response to 17,326 individuals in drought-stricken areas. Our efforts focused on restoring essential services and improving community health.
Our work included:
- Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) Interventions: We rehabilitated six non-functional water schemes to restore access to clean water for thousands. We also conducted regular hygiene promotion campaigns to educate communities on best practices and distributed 10 sets of latrine cleaning kits to six schools and four health facilities to improve sanitation.
- Protection: We distributed dignity kits to vulnerable individuals, ensuring they had essential personal hygiene items.
- Capacity Building: To ensure the long-term sustainability of our work, we conducted hygiene promotion training to empower community members to maintain a healthy environment.
