Expanding Life-Saving Nutrition Services
In the Zalanbesa, Gulomekeda, Laelay Koraro, and Zana districts, we successfully expanded our integrated nutrition program, providing critical support to 268,947 people.
Our work included:
- Preventing malnutrition by providing micronutrient supplements.
- Screening and treating pregnant and lactating women for wasting, and giving them iron-folic acid (IFA) supplements.
- Admitting and treating children suffering from severe acute malnutrition (SAM).
- Building local capacity by training health workers.
- Educating caregivers on optimal infant and young child feeding (IYCF) practices.
