Our Journey of Change and Development
MCMDO’s Right2Grow project in East Hararge (Girawa and Bedeno) is making a significant impact on 187,700 people. This initiative focuses on a holistic approach to improve community well-being through health, infrastructure, and economic development.
Key achievements of the project include:
- Empowering the Local Economy: We have established 10 private businesses and created a market for chicken and eggs, benefiting 1,000 households.
- Improving Health Infrastructure: The community has renovated three Health Posts (HPs), and a 10-kilometer road was repaired to improve access to healthcare facilities. A second-generation Health Post is also under construction.
- Promoting School-Based Nutrition: We've scaled up school gardening in 92 out of 131 schools and provided school-based feeding programs in 115 schools. Additionally, we distributed 10 chickens to 15 schools and 15 avocado seedlings to 63 schools.
