Nutrition: Preventing and Addressing Acute Malnutrition
MCMDO integrated nutrition services into the humanitarian response through the screening and treatment of acute malnutrition, community-based nutrition support, and Infant and Young Child Feeding in Emergencies (IYCF E) activities. Nutrition education and caregiver support also promoted appropriate feeding practices and the early identification of malnutrition. Through these interventions, 24,043 people were reached with nutrition services, including 14,415 children who received treatment for acute malnutrition. Nutrition education and feeding support further helped caregivers and community members improve their knowledge of appropriate nutrition practices.

WASH: Improving Access to Safe Water, Sanitation and Hygiene
To help reduce public health risks, MCMDO rehabilitated water supply systems and sanitation facilities while conducting hygiene promotion and community awareness activities. The response also provided hygiene supplies and included water quality testing to promote safer water use and improved hygiene practices. By the end of the project, 74 water points and water supply systems had been rehabilitated, 36 sanitation facilities had been improved, and 10,800 households had received WASH non-food item (WASH-NFI) support. In total, 143,379 people were reached through WASH services.
