The Mothers and Children Multisectoral Development Organization (MCMDO) has strengthened its capacity to monitor household progress towards self-reliance through mobile data collection training using the CommCare platform.

Organized and facilitated by GOAL International Ethiopia, the training equipped MCMDO field teams with the skills to digitally administer the Self Reliance Index (SRI), supporting more systematic, timely and evidence-based monitoring under the Graduation Approach Programme in Arada Sub City, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

The integration of digital tools marks another milestone in the longstanding collaboration between MCMDO and GOAL Ethiopia to strengthen community resilience and promote sustainable pathways out of extreme poverty.

By digitizing data collection and tracking household progress, the programme will improve access to timely field information, helping teams assess outcomes, identify emerging needs and adapt support based on households’ progress towards economic independence.

Through this initiative, MCMDO continues to advance data informed programming and strengthen efforts to help urban households build self-reliance and achieve more sustainable livelihoods.
