MCMDO Executive Director Dr. Solomon Getachew recently visited the Assosa Field Office to review the implementation of the Strengthening Resilience by Empowering Women and Girls in Areas Affected by the Sudanese Conflict (HER) Project.

During the visit, he reviewed ongoing activities, including the construction of the Women and Girls’ Friendly Space Hub, and engaged with the Refugee Central Committee (RCC) and RRS agricultural beneficiaries at the refugee camp.

Dr. Solomon also met with field office staff and the Reform Finance Office to discuss implementation progress, operational challenges, and priorities for the coming period. He encouraged the team to strengthen coordination, teamwork, and ownership while accelerating activities and maintaining quality and accountability.

Supported by Agence Française de Développement (AFD), with the Danish Refugee Council (DRC) as partner and MCMDO as the implementing organization, the HER Project focuses on strengthening resilience and livelihoods among women and girls affected by displacement.

The visit reaffirmed MCMDO’s commitment to strong field engagement and effective implementation as the project moves forward.
