Amibara and Awash Fentale, Afar Region: Local Healthcare for Women and Children
We provided localized healthcare to 14,469 women and children, focusing on comprehensive medical support and community awareness.
Key Activities
- Medical Services: We offered consultations and treatments for adults and children under five. We also provided mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) and medical treatment for individuals with disabilities.
- Maternal and Child Health: Our teams offered all forms of family planning services, antenatal care (ANC), and postnatal care (PNC). We also ensured children were vaccinated and referred women to health centers for assisted delivery.
- Community and Capacity Building: We conducted social mobilization and community awareness campaigns to promote health-seeking behaviors. We also established and strengthened the Woreda Rapid Response Team (RRT) to ensure a quick and effective response to health emergencies.
