Sedal, Benishangul Gumuz Region: Assistance for Returning IDPs
Our integrated multi-sectoral program supported 66,154 internally displaced persons (IDPs) as they returned to their homes. The assistance was designed to help them re-establish their lives and livelihoods.
Our work included:
- Health and Nutrition: We provided critical nutrition support and offered consultation and treatment services. Our teams also provided modern family planning services and crucial health education to raise awareness about common health issues.
- WASH & Disease Surveillance: We implemented key WASH interventions to improve water and sanitation conditions. We also established integrated disease surveillance and reporting systems to monitor and quickly respond to potential outbreaks.
- Livelihoods & Mental Health: To help people restart their lives, we supported agricultural activities. We also provided basic Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) to help individuals cope with the trauma of displacement.
