MCMDO Executive Director Visits Project Sites as EHF Supported Response Nears Completion
As MCMDO’s Ethiopia Humanitarian Fund supported integrated response approaches the end of its implementation period, Executive Director Dr. Solomon Getachew visited selected project sites to see the work supported through the response and reflect on the progress and accomplishments achieved across the project’s nine targeted woredas.
Implemented from April to September 2026, the six month response brings together Health, Nutrition and WASH interventions across seven woredas in Tigray and two woredas in contested areas, with the aim of strengthening access to essential services and addressing critical needs in the targeted communities.
During the visit, Dr. Solomon observed the implementation of the project firsthand and engaged with MCMDO teams involved in delivering the response. The visit provided an opportunity to appreciate the dedication and efforts of the teams working across the different project areas, as well as the collaboration that has supported the delivery of the response.
The visit also offered an opportunity to reflect on the progress made throughout the project period and the accomplishments reported across its different components. The integrated approach has brought together health, nutrition and WASH interventions, with the broader aim of strengthening access to essential services and contributing to the health and wellbeing of communities reached by the response.
As the project period draws to a close, MCMDO continues to document the achievements and lessons from the response. The field visit provided a valuable opportunity to see the work firsthand, recognize the collective efforts behind the response, and reflect on the contribution of the project to the communities it has served.
