Our Journey of Change and Development
MCMDO’s Feed the Future Ethiopia Community Nutrition project has reached 120,550 people across the towns of Alamata, Raya Alamata, Enda Mekoni, Neqsege, Ofla, and Zata. This initiative is a multi-pronged effort to improve nutrition and public health at the community level.
Our key activities include:
- Empowering Community Leaders: We've conducted sensitization workshops and provided training for Village Health Leaders (VHLs) and health workers. This ensures that knowledge and skills are transferred directly to the community, creating a sustainable model for health promotion.
- Providing Essential Support: The project offers Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) and cash support to help individuals and families cope with the economic and emotional challenges that can impact nutrition.
- Targeted Health Interventions: We've implemented crucial health interventions such as nutritional screening, Vitamin A Supplementation (VAS), and deworming. The project also plays a vital role in linking children with severe acute malnutrition (SAM) to the necessary care.
