The MCMDO Child Space Center recently had the honor of hosting a delegation from GOAL USA. The group included GOAL USA’s Board Chairman Ronan Ryan, Board members Conor Twomey and Tony Chambers, CEO Eamon Sharkey, and Irish Olympian and GOAL ambassador, Eamonn Coghlan. The visitors met with Resom Sisay, MCMDO’s Addis Ababa Area Program Manager, to discuss the ongoing success of the Child Space program.

Since 2012, MCMDO has partnered with GOAL International to provide vital support to street children in Addis Ababa. The program offers crucial services like rehabilitation and reintegration, helping children build a foundation for a better future.

Celebrating Success: The Graduation Approach Project

A highlight of the visit was the recognition of graduates from the “Graduation Approach Project.” The delegation congratulated and awarded individuals who successfully completed training in food preparation and kitchen operations. This project empowers ultra-poor households to achieve economic self-reliance, demonstrating a clear path from vulnerability to independence.

This collaboration between MCMDO and GOAL exemplifies a shared commitment to creating lasting change and empowering communities.
