About MCMDO
Mothers and Children Multi-sectoral Development Organization (MCMDO) is an indigenous, non-governmental, and non-profit organization established in 1997. The organization is re-registered under the Civil Society Organizations (CSO) Proclamation No. 1113/2019 with Certificate No. 0022.
As part of the HER Project in Ura Settlement, Benishangul Gumuz Region, MCMDO plans to construct a Women & Girls Safe Space and Child-Friendly Corner within a community multisectoral hub.
MCMDO therefore invites qualified and eligible contractors to submit sealed bids for this construction project.

Eligibility Requirements
Eligible bidders must satisfy the following requirements:
Mission Alignment
- Demonstrate understanding of and commitment to MCMDO’s mission and vision.
- Have experience in projects that promote safe and inclusive community infrastructure.
Regulatory Compliance
Contractors must:
- Hold a valid construction license issued by the relevant government authority.
- Comply with all applicable Ethiopian construction regulations.
- Follow Good Construction Practices (GCP).
Experience & Qualifications
Applicants must provide:
- Evidence of at least three (3) similar construction projects completed during the past three years.
- References from at least three previous clients.
Quality Assurance
Bidders shall provide:
- A proposed construction methodology.
- Quality control and quality assurance procedures.
- Evidence of qualified technical personnel.
Legal Requirements
The bidder must submit:
- Valid Certificate of Competency.
- Renewed Trade License for the current fiscal year.
- VAT Registration Certificate.
- Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN).
- Current Tax Clearance Certificate.
Financial Capacity
The bidder shall provide:
- Audited financial statements and/or bank statements for the past three years.
- Evidence of an average annual turnover of at least ETB 2,000,000 over the last three years.
Bid Security
A bid security equivalent to 2% of the total bid amount must be submitted in the form of:
- Bank Guarantee, or
- Guarantee Letter
The bid security shall remain valid for three (3) months after the bid submission deadline.
Technical Capacity
The contractor must demonstrate the ability to:
- Mobilise and commence construction within 10 working days after contract signing.
- Complete the project according to the approved BOQ, drawings, and specifications.
- Meet the agreed construction timeline.
Bid Submission Requirements
Financial Proposal
- Submit a fully completed BOQ.
- Clearly indicate the unit price and total price for every item.
